There are two parts to the basic training you will receive: Indoor basic training (“escape room”) and outdoor adventure. Indoor training involves typical Escape Room challenges, magic, virtual reality and augmented reality. The outdoor basic training involves puzzles, keen observation, following clues, scavenger hunt, and much more. While on the street, will the instructions be straightforward, such as turn right now, turn left there?
Sometimes. However, for the most part, there are puzzles, geocaching, play on words and riddles you must solve to continue your mission.

How many people are allowed in each mission?
There is a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 people.

Is there an age restriction?
Yes. All participants must be at least 18 years old.

How long does it take to complete the event?
This is a tough one. Less than two hours. Points are deducted if you arrive at objective too early or too late.
It also depends on how good you are at following instructions, solving puzzles, performing tasks and scavenging.

What is a successful event?
When everyone has a fantastic fun filled mission.
When at least one team successfully makes it to the end.
When at least one team gets totally and absolutely lost.

What should I bring?
Bring a snack, water, umbrella, smart phone (fully charged) and a pen and note pad (if you are technically challenged). Make sure you have downloaded a compass App for example, (Compass X) onto your smart phone that displays Degrees, Minutes and seconds or become familiar with how to enter this into Google Maps. Also, download an app called (Mip App). Both of these apps are free. The event goes no matter what the weather, so dress appropriately.

Do I have to sign a waiver of any kind?
Yes. This is required. Even though there are no strenuous tasks and it isn’t a race, Escape Road must protect itself. This is normal practice. Also, you may be asked to participate in a task that requires the use of an “Oculus Go” Virtual Reality Headset. You can opt out of this task with no negative repercussions for your team. You must read the health and safety warnings at the Oculus website before volunteering to complete this task. Here is the site:

Is this a competition?
No. You base your marks and time against that of what the organizer has determined to be true. Having said that, a list may be provided on the web site Results page, showing results of all teams entered into the event.

Is this a race?
No! A team will lose points if it arrives at finish point too early.

Are there prizes?
In general, the answer is no. However, depending on the event, such as a group or corporate event, we can customize it for you.

Are there giveaways of any kind?
Depending on the event. A corporate or group event may have them. Also, sponsors may wish to hand out small promotional gifts. Don’t forget to wear your dog tag.
